LF Energy launches microgrid program

San Francisco-based Linux Foundation nonprofit LF Energy today announced the launch of Hyphae, a microgrid initiative to automate the business-to-business distribution of renewable energy, in conjunction with Sony Computer Science Laboratories Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Corporation. A statement said Hyphae aims to make microgrids more resilient by repurposing Sony CSL’s existing software, Autonomous Power Interchange System, which distributes locally produced renewable energy over a DC grid, to work with AC Grids.
